UB Arts Collaboratory

The UBCFA brings the university’s Arts Departments together, and the Arts Collaboratory mixes things up. All too often, the arts exist in their own separate bubbles—and artists work in isolation. The Arts Collaboratory, which began as a strategic initiative right here at the University at Buffalo, creates an environment in which creative collaboration can flourish. Their goal is to gather UB and Buffalo’s painters, poets, dancers and creators into one big, dynamic community. The AC and the UBCFA believe that when the arts converge, great work and big ideas will result.

What is the Arts Collaboratory?

We are a strategic initiative designed to create an environment in which creative collaboration can flourish. The Arts Collaboratory brings UB and Buffalo-based artists together to spark innovation and share their work with the world.

We Believe in the Power of Synergy

You’ve heard the saying that the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts? Or that many minds are better than one? That’s synergy. The Arts Collaboratory believes if we bring creative minds together, great art and big ideas will result. All too often, the arts exist in their own separate bubbles. We want to gather Buffalo’s painters, poets, dancers and creators into one big community. Together, we’ll find more inspiration and power than we would our own.

We Want You to Get to Know UB and Buffalo's Artists

We think you’ll see work you wouldn’t otherwise encounter—work you never would have sought out on your own. Our goal is to send you home with ideas you wouldn’t have had, and our hope is you’ll reach out and share them with each other.
