Alan Zweibel, BA ’72, will lead a creative research theatre workshop January–May 2020 that centers on Zweibel’s career, creative process, and his play Bunny Bunny, about his friendship with Gilda Radner. The workshop is a collaboration with Associate Professor Maria S. Horne and her theatre workshop class in the UB Department of Theatre and Dance. The class allows Zweibel to actively share his expertise and contribute insights to help explore the interdisciplinary rehearsal process and production of Bunny Bunny with UB students in the arts.

An original Saturday Night Live writer, Zweibel has won multiple Emmy and Writers Guild awards for his work in television, which also includes It’s Garry Shandling’s Show (which he co-created and produced), The Late Show With David Letterman, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Zweibel is currently preparing Bunny Bunny for a return to the New York stage and just finished shooting a movie written with Billy Crystal titled Here Today, starring Crystal and Tiffany Haddish.
