Join Our Team

The UB Center for the Arts is a learning-focused organization committed to student success. With Center and production group activity providing both a backdrop and an enhancement to the classroom experience, we utilize student assistants and interns, and serve as a catalyst for project-based learning activities.

Production Student Assistants (PSA) play an important role in UB Production Group operations. Our PSAs explore various areas of the performing arts, surrounded by industry professionals, gaining invaluable experience for future careers in the entertainment industry. A Video Production Internship* is also available each semester. The student intern will participate in a variety of produced and live event productions while exploring various levels of video production and receiving mentorship from field professionals.

Contact the Production Group at [email protected] for an application.

Please note that we require previous experience in the industry and interests in the fields of theatre, live entertainment and/or related production industries.

*This is a non-paid internship worth one (1) credit and the selected candidate must register for academic credit at the University at Buffalo.

The UB Center for the Arts offers a limited number of Student Assistant positions in our event, front of house and box office operations. Hands-On Learning

The UB Production Group’s contributions to the UB academic environment and team interaction with students is high, averaging 1860+ student contact hours per semester as paid assistants and through credit-bearing video internships. Incorporating students into the operation fulfills a crew labor role and promotes direct experience with industry professionals.

These experiences have helped launch our graduates' careers, built portfolios and strengthen entries into prestigious graduate programs. Many of our alumni say that being a part of a specific production, such as Springfest or Music is Art LIVE @ the Center, was their most memorable college experience, and that the UBPG played a major role in their success.

The award-winning TV series “Music is Art LIVE @ the Center” highlighted local artists and provided internships that enabled students to learn multi-camera production
