Eero Laine is an assistant professor and the director of graduate studies in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University at Buffalo. His work examines theatre, performance and labor, especially commercial forms of performance and the ways they circulate and are consumed. His first book, Professional Wrestling and the Commercial Stage, was published in 2020. Eero co-edited Performance and Professional Wrestling and two other co-edited volumes, Sports Plays and Professional Wrestling: Politics and Populism, are underway. He regularly develops work through collaborative methodologies drawn from and informed by various modes and theories of performance. He writes, edits, performs, curates and develops research with and through a number of international cohorts, collectives and partnerships. Eero is the editor of the Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism and is one of the co-editors of Lateral, the journal of the Cultural Studies Association. He serves as secretary of the Board of Directors of Performance Studies International.
