A groundbreaking research collaboration between the IACE Creative Research Lab and the Center for AI Business Innovation in the UB School of Management.
Step into a world where the genius of Spanish poets meets cutting-edge technology! Artist in the Loop is not just a performance—it’s a bold experiment in creativity, where advancements in artificial intelligence and theatre intersect.
From the lyrical 15th-century serranillas by Marqués de Santillana to the haunting verses of early 20th-century masters, this original production reimagines timeless poetry through fresh translations and collective creation. Led by Prof. Maria S. Horne and Prof. Dominic Sellitto, and powered by the imagination and creative might of our students, this interdisciplinary journey explores what it means to create in a Theatre + AI collaboration.
Experience Spanish poetry. Challenge the boundaries. Join the conversation.
Stay after the show for a lively post-performance Q&A, where you’ll meet the creative team and dive into the artistic and historical layers of this one-of-a-kind event.
The UB Theatre and Dance 2025-2026 season is sponsored in part by Fox Run at Orchard Park, celebrating its seventh year in support of the department.
