The UBCFA comes alive with performances, installations, interactive activities, and more! Guests are invited to see, celebrate, and experience the artistry that happens right here on campus. 

Presented by the Center for the Arts in collaboration with the departments of Art, Arts Management, UB Art Galleries, Media Study, Music, and Theatre and Dance.

This event is FREE and open to University at Buffalo students, faculty, staff and the public.

Choreographed by Faculty Anne Burnidge with dancers. Student dancers include Shannon Brien, Vic Bruce, Tari Civerolo, Kenny Harrison, Mackenzie Leone, Selena Pereyra, Grace Rezin. Music selections include Icefloe and Possible by Zoe Keating. The piece is based on a sense of renewal created by light peeking through the cracks of life to warm and melt a long winter of habitual tension and stress. Music by Zoe Keating.

A Cog in the Wheel, Choreolab, Department of Theatre and Dance

Choreographed by undergraduate student Juliana Hassouna, with dancers Vic Oshman-Bruce, Sophia Clute, Kendra Jones, Mackenzie Leone, Morgan Mahoney, Mia Pierce, and Grace Rezin, this piece elves into the complex dynamics of conformity and individuality within society. Drawing inspiration from the metaphor of machinery, the choreography explores the human desire to belong and the pressures to conform to societal norms.

A Bharatanatyam Spectacle (Indian classical dance), Niharika Rangegowda  

With 16 years of training in classical dance, Niharika has given more than 300 solo performances and has performed across India at prestigious Festivals and recently has been presenting concerts in the United States. Bharatanatyam is an Indian classical dance form characterised by intricate footwork, graceful movements, and expressive storytelling where one can experience India’s rich cultural heritage and artistic elegance.

REJECT BLACK AND WHITE is a collection of 10 unique pieces, by BFA student Zahidul Zahid, that come together to convey the importance of embracing new ideas and not conforming to traditional values. These pieces are a commentary on the world around me from a naive mind.
